The 2nd Climate Resilience Workshop was held during 27th-28th February and 1st March 2023 among officers from Oromia region, Jimma zone, Southwest Shewa Zone, East Shewa Zone, and the three selected pilot districts Setema, Dawo and Adamitullu Jido Kombolcha.

Mr. Hiroyuki Kanazawa, Chief Advisor of the project briefly explained the purpose of the workshop on capacitating the officers while developing district action plan to strengthen their climate resilience. The participants from Jimma and Southwest Shewa Zones reviewed the outputs during the 1st Climate Resilience Workshop held in August 2022, which was conducted to identify problems caused by recent climate change and their countermeasures. Through discussion, each zone with their respective districts analyzed and consolidated the problems, necessary actions, and roles & responsibilities of stakeholders to make their plan effective.

On his closing remark, Mr. Makonnen Fufa, a project focal person (Senior Climate Change Expert) representing Ministry of Agriculture, on behalf of Project Director, stated that the districts need to implement the action plan on the ground by mobilizing available resources from local government, private sectors and individuals. He added that the Ministry of Agriculture is ready to scale up this project to other districts in different regions.
