Purpose:

PT. Yamaha Music Indonesia is implementing a restoration activity to build "Yamaha Forest" in Block Lambosir, Gunung Ciremai National Park. This activity is being conducted as a part of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) through collaboration between Gunung Ciremai National Park and Japan International Cooperation Agency.

The Tree Planting Ceremony aims to raise the awareness of stakeholders-including local communities and invite them to become involved with restoration activities.

Participants: Total number of participants: 209 persons. The participants are drawn from the following;

1. Yahama Group: 27 Persons
2. JICA: 11 Persons
3. PHKA: 4 Persons
4. Gunung Ciremai National Park's Staff: 20 Persons
5. District of Kuningan Officer staff 4 Persons (The Regent and Vice-Regent, Head of Parliament Kuningan District, and Head of Regional Development of Kuningan District)
6. Local Organizations: 9 Persons (Chief Police Department of Kuningan District, Commander of Military of Kuningan District, Head of Court Kuningan District, staff Regional Development of Kuningan District, BPLHD, Forestry Agency of Kuningan District, Agriculture Department and SDAP)
7. University of Kuningan: 26 Persons
8. Government Institutions: 61 Persons
9. Social Community: 23 Persons ( Working Goup, Farmer's Group, and Local People)
10. Students: 10 Students of Elementary School
11. Journalists: 14 Persons

Description:

The Tree Planting Ceremony was conducted effectively, because the weather was good. All participants had gathered on the spot before the ceremony began. The ceremony began at 10:30 and lasted for 2.5 hours according to the schedule.

This Tree Planting Ceremony is the third ceremony of its kind, after the first ceremony in 2010 and the second ceremony in 2011. Therefore, the staff and consultants of Gunug Ciremai National Park are now familiar with the procedures relating to such ceremonies. The preparation for the ceremony, including the preparation of place for planting and the improvement of the access road was completed first. The schedule was followed according to plan.

Since the Tree Planting Ceremony for "Yamaha Forest" and "National Planting Day" by the Government of Indonesia was held on the same date, the number of participants for the Yamaha Tree Planting Ceremony was fewer than last year. So the number of attendees only reached 209 people. Since the Yamaha Group focused upon environmental education for employees, some Yamaha employees participated in the planting ceremony. Environmental education is also given to Elementary students in the Ceremony Planting area.

In the future, it is expected that more people will become involved in restoration activities in Gunung Ciremai National Park.
