1. Location : Gunung Merapi National Parak (Ngablak Village, Srumbung Sub district, Magelang District, Central Java Province)

2. Period: 22nd December 2012

3. Purpose: JICA-RECA started to conduct the cooperation project with PT. TS Tech Indonesia ^[1] in December 2012. PT. TS Tech Indonesia and JICA-RECA conducted the memorial tree planting ceremony for the start of the project in the restoration project site in Ngablak Village.

4. Overview:

   (i) Location: The project site in Gunung Merapi National Park (Ngablak Village)
   PT. TS Tech Indonesia would like to conduct tree planting (Local species) for 5 ha. Therefore Gunung Merapi National Park, JICA-RECA and Sumitomo Forestry Co Ltd (An executive consultant) have set up the PT. TS Tech tree planting site for 5 ha next to the JICA-RECA restoration project site. There are so many Calliandra trees (Alien species) now.

   (ii) Participants: 200 people

5. Impression:

   On that day, we were blessed with good weather. Although it was rainy season, we were lucky enough to be able to view the summit of Mount Merapi. We planted 11 different local trees, such as Erthrina sp, Ficus sp. We used a bamboo pot called Poson. we can still plant effectively without removing the seedlings from the bamboo pot .we can plant the seedlings with the bamboo pots. The bamboo used in the pot gives it a very unique, distinctive quality for planting purposes.

   Because many participants planted the seedlings in the planting ceremony, local people and other stakeholders could fully understand the corporate social responsibility activities of PT. TS Tech Indonesia.
