We have attempted to improve a Career Ladder System for Nursing (hereinafter referred to as the "Ladder System") during this one year. As part of the improvement efforts, we had conducted a workshop for indicators and assessment tools in Bandung, West Java from 11th – 13th March 2014.

In the workshop, we reviewed the indicators which we developed during the year of 2013 and finalized them. Then, we discussed on the evaluation tools and the protocol of a hospitals based nursing competency assessment and their indicators.

We developed a framework of the Ladder System in the workshop. As a next step, we will introduce a modified Ladder System to 9 pilot hospitals. We will put it on a trial introduction of the Ladder System during the next one year, discuss implementation system at hospitals and a monitoring methodology. After one year trial, we will review the introduction and modify the Ladder System if necessary based on the results of the trial.
