Conducting workshop on developing an assessment indicators and tool for a Ladder System

The training in Japan on Disaster Nursing / Critical Care / Emergency Nursing was conducted in February 2014, and started project activity related to those three areas. After the training in Japan, participants developed detail activity plan for those areas, and started the activities in April.

The participants selected disaster nursing as first activity. Indonesia has just started to develop the curriculum on disaster nursing before start of the project and the project joined this process. As a first step of this activity, the project conducted a workshop to discuss on nursing competency and direction of development of curriculum for disaster nursing from 15th to 17th April. JICA deployed a short-term expert for this activity.

In addition, the participants decided to review and revise the curriculum for Emergency Nursing according to the knowledge and experience which were acquired during the training in Japan, and conducted a workshop to review the curriculum and discuss what kind of equipment is needed to implement the training with Japanese short-term expert.

Contributing to enhancement of nursing practice through the development of effective and efficient curriculum for nurses is a main part of the project. The main activity of the project has started eventually. It is expected that participants utilize the knowledge and experience in Japan for development of curriculum and the project contribute to realizing improvement of nursing competency through effective and efficient in-service training.
