The 6th technical training held for CLMV TL B countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Timor-Leste, and Brunei) in September 2016

A total of 28 participants from the government information security organizations (mainly National CERT) participated in the training from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Timor-Leste, Brunei, and Indonesia. They learnt log file analysis over the two weeks.

The ‘log file' is the one, in which usage situation of the computer and status of data transmission are recorded. National CERT is continuously collecting and analysing log files of main network equipment and servers to check smooth functions of domestic Internet. Since the volume of the log file is large and the content is diverse, advanced skills are required for the staff members carrying out this task.

In this training, technical experts from JPCERT, APNIC, ID-SIRITT / CC, and other private IT training institutions have provided lectures, which are mainly focused on practical exercises.

Participants were significantly content with the training, since they have acquired the skills that can be soon used after returning home country.
