International training participants in the MCH Handbook, then: Tajikistan

Tajikistan starts to put their effort to develop the MCH handbook in round 2015. With the support of various development aid agencies, trials of MCH handbook have been carried out in several administrative districts in 2016. JICA also supports Tajikistan's MCH handbook by assisting development of operation guide for health workers, inviting relevant people to the International Conference on MCH Handbook, and international trainings held in Indonesia as well as in Japan.

What kind of activities trainees who participate in training in Indonesia from Tajikistan do after returning home? Dr. Sadorat Mavlonova and Ms. Budahusha Jonova, who participated in the 2017 training, presented their post-return activities at a meeting in the capital city of Dushanbe in June 2019. Dr. Mavlonova was impressed by the fact that the elderly actively supported village mothers and children in West Sumatra, where they visited the site. After returning home, she used the MCH Handbook for the elderly and volunteers in the city of Dushanbe. Ms. Jonova investigated the effective use of this handbook in Rudaki District near Dushanbe. Based on the results, they plan further operational improvements.
