The 2nd Joint Coordinating Committee has held online

The 2nd Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) for the JICA MCHHB project was held as online on 5th March 2021.

Approximately 40 of JCC members participated in the JCC from the Ministry of Health, Provincial Health Offices, District Health Offices, JICA Headquarters, JICA Indonesia Office and the Project.

The Acting Director General of Public Health, Ministry of Health and the Senior Representative of JICA Indonesia Office delivered the opening speech. The Acting Director General of Public Health expressed her gratitude to JICA for its long-standing cooperation in maternal and child health in Indonesia since the introduction of the first Maternal and Child Health Handbook (MCH Handbook) in Central Java Province in 1993 until it has been disseminated to all provinces. She also thanked JICA in her speech for providing materials and equipment (non-contact thermometers and hygiene kits) to strengthen COVID-19 control.

Next, the Chief Advisor of the Project shared the progress of each project's outcome, and the Expert on Community Health presented about future activity plans. The committee confirmed the followings;

  • To hold Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) in August 2021 (Output 1),
  • To finalize the Little Baby Handbook (LBH) for low birth weight infants to facilitate trainings and implement the necessary interventions (Output 2),
  • To develop the model of Integrated Child Health Checkup (ICHC) to target for children of 6 months for the infant medical routine examination (Output 3), and
  • To finalize the study on quality control of the e-MCH Handbook (Output 4).

The Director of Family Health, Ministry of Health and the Director of Health Team 3, JICA HQ delivered closing remarks and confirmed that the Project activities have been progressing accordingly through regular remote/online communication, and each members will strengthen their coordination for further infection prevention of COVID-19 in the future.

The project is to proceed its planned activities based on the results of the JCC.
