We delivered an introduction seminar of Network monitoring tool Mata Elang to staff members of LaoCERT (National CERT of Laos), LANIC (Laos national internet center) and e-government. Mata Elang is an open source network monitoring tool developed by Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya (PENS) of Indonesia. It is a successor system of Mata Garuda which is currently used by State Cyber and Cryptography Agency of Indonesia.

In the seminar, there was explanation of background techniques used in Mata Elang and required configurations, network topologies to install the system to LaoCERT. The instructors and main members struggled with the environment that is different from Indonesia but did the actual installation work.

There was a meeting for further technical cooperation in opensource development together with the University of Laos. Their discussion will go on to secure a continuous support system.
