We introduce an open source network monitoring tool "Mata Elang" which is supported by the project, to the University of Indonesia.

It is not easy to introduce OSS tools remotely in the Covid-19 situation. We are struggling to do the installation due to insufficient confirmation of prerequisites environment, mistakes in physical settings, and misunderstandings among members.

Network monitoring is performed on the network of the Department of Electrical Engineering at first and begins its activities as a Security Operation Center (SOC). After the SOC activities started, students will conduct network monitoring exercises and research, and they will form the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) to work on security incident response.
