We are supposed to install rain gauges for analyzing the relation between rainfall and occurrence of Banjir Bandang and setting of the early warning and emergency evacuation standard. On March 18th, we installed observatory rain gauges at the upper stream of Jompo River basin in Jember District.

At the installing, the plantation office, which is the major landowner in the area, cooperated fully not only with land use, but also with the foundation construction, fence setting, and periodical data sending for observation.

We are planning to collect the date of rainfall and also use it for technology transfer regarding methods to set the limit of rainfall delineated by the early warning and emergency evacuation standard.
