On 12^th July, the preliminary meeting was opened in Research Center for Water Resources, Research & Development Agency of the Ministry of Public Works, where preparation to be made for opening of the Project Supporting Committee, which is scheduled to open on 21^st July, was discussed.

Mr. Toshiyasu Ueno, expert, explained on the current state of composing of the "manual (draft) for researching Banjir Bandang hazardous area", which is scheduled to be discussed in the coming Project Supporting Committee; besides that, he reported that a comic book that explains about the Banjir Bandang has been published.

Mr. Ali, Director of Research Center for Water Resources, reminded that it needed to discuss in a concrete manner, which organization would play a central role in the management and utilization of the Hazard Maps as well as Manuals that have been provided by the Project.

The project intends to Prepare the action plans for improving the capability for Banjir Bandang disaster mitigation all over the Indonesia; as to what has been indicated, it will be discussed with the institutions concerned so that it may be reflected in the action plan.
