Mt. Merapi erupted

On October 26th, Mt. Merapi, which locates between Java Province and Jogjakarta Sepecial Province in Central Java, erupted. Thereafter, it has repeated eruptions. The area rage where evacuation instruction was issued is extended to radius 20 Km from the top of the mountain after November 3rd and 5th. The disaster situation is: 141 dead, 453 insured, and 279,702 evacuated as of 9:00, November 8th (reported by Indonesia National Disaster Management Agency).

So far, adding to pyroclastic flows along with the eruptions, volcanic products which massively deposited at the foot of the mountain flowed down as mudflow or debris flow, so called Lahar, and gave damages such as washing out of bridges, etc. Eruption warning level of Mt. Merapi is at level 4, the highest level (Prepare to Evacuate) as of November, 8th and there is fear of further eruptions.
