"University Network for Multimodal Sediment Disaster Mitigation in Collaboration with Government Institutions" was held

On October 29th, in Gadjah Mada University in Jogjakarta, "University Network for Multimodal Sediment Disaster Mitigation in Collaboration with Government Institutions" was held.

Professor Djoko Legono in Gadjah Mada University is the promoter of the workshop. From Japan: Kyoto University; Tsukuba University; Kochi University; Kobe University; and National Institute for Land and Infrastructure Management of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism joined the workshop. From Indonesia: Gadjah Mada University; Brawijaya University; Research Centre for Water Resources, Agency for Research and Development,Ministry of Public Works; State Ministry of Research and Technology; Public corporation of Water Resources Control I (Brantas River Basin control organization); and JICA experts joined the workshop.

At the front, Professor Djoko Legono in Gadjah Mada University made a host speech. Then the head of the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in Gadjah Mada University made an opening speech. Subsequently, regarding Multimodal Sediment Disaster, from Indonesia Dr.Ari, Director of Research Centre for Water Resources, made a presentation about Expected Collaboration with University Network for Sediment Disasters, and from Japan side, Professor Masaharu Fujita from Kyoto University did about Introduction of Multimodal Sediment Disasters and Necessity of Supporting Systems. Thereafter, each participants made presentations and had active discussions.
