Reported to Bureau of Public Works in East Java Province

On November 19th, we reported to Irrigation Department of Bureau of Public Works in Surabaya City, East Java Province about recent activities such as installation of a simple water level sensor and table-top simulations. For the briefing session Mr.Tohari Head of Planning, Mr.Sunoko Head of Operation and Maintenance, Mr.SetyoBudiUtomo Head of Lumajang Office, and Mr. Anton Head of Operation and Maintenance of Lumajang Office joined. From our project, Mr.Ueno, Chief Advisor and Mr.Shiba, expert joined. He demonstrated with the same model of the simple water level sensor and explained the monitoring system of Jompo River. And he informed them that the expert in charge of Surabaya and Jember would be relieved at the end of November.

Bureau of Public Works in East Java Province made opinions such as: the simple water level sensor is very effective for the regional early warning and emergency evacuation, it needs improvements considering blackout, and the information can be delivered to larger area by using siren and loudspeaker, etc. Also Mr.Tohari head of Planning expressed his appreciation regarding the past project activities including introducing the simple monitoring system to the site. Also he showed the expectation of expanding the target area of the monitoring system not only in Jember but also to the other area in East Java Province such as Sanpean River, etc.

We would like to continuously share information and strengthen cooperation with the related agencies.
