On December 3rd, a Disaster Mitigation Seminar for teachers in professional training colleges /junior high schools was held at PMI Jember office as part of disaster mitigation education which PMI, a Red Cross Organization in Indonesia, encourages with cooperating with Education Department in Jember District. Since JICA was offered to join as lecturers, we gave lectures about Banjir Bandang (debris flow) at the seminar. 

Mr.Ueno Chief Advisor explained about Banjir Bandang with animations and TV commercial messages which have been produced recently. Then Mr.Yoshida Expert had a lecture about features of Banjir Bandang and early warning and evacuation. It seems that teachers who gathered at the seminar listened very intently.
