Sabo Technical Center

On 21st December, Mr. Toshiyasu UENO, Expert has lectured in the Sabo training course held at Sabo Technical Center in Jogjakarta on "Integrated Disaster Mitigation Management for Banjir Bandang".

Sabo Technical Center is a organization established under Japan's technical cooperation for the purpose of implementing activities on overall Sabo Technique such as staff training, technical development as well as public awareness and the like.  This training is held in the period from 15th to 24th December. Total 20 trainees are joined in this training; they are staffs of the Ministry of Public Works in various locations in Indonesia as well as staffs of the governments of districts and provinces.

Mr. Toshiyasu UENO, Expert lectured on the purpose as well as details of activities of ‘Integrated Disaster Mitigation Management for Banjir Bandang, phenomenon of Banjir Bandang, the early warning and emergency measures for Banjir Bandang and the like.  From the trainees, there were many questions such as; the difference of situation where Banjir Bandang occurs between Japan and Indonesia, observation method of slopes,  community disaster prevention, educational campaign on sediment disasters and the like.
