National Development Planning Agency

On February 2nd, we reported progress of the project to Dr.Lukita, Vice Minister of BAPPENAS (National Development Planning Agency). Mr. Toshiyasu Ueno, expert, has reported on the purpose and performance of the Integrated Disaster Mitigation Management for ‘Banjir Bandang' project which is a 3 year's project and has been worked since November, 2008. Also we introduced P.R. tools such as posters, comics, movies, and sounds, which were made for the purpose of publicity and education.

Dr.Lukita, Vice Minister made comments that he expected these activities were utilized for various disaster management in everywhere in Indonesia because many disasters happend in Indonesia for example Banjir Bandang in Wasior City, West Papua Province; earthquake off the coast of Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra; and Mt.Merapi Volcano eruption, the central area of Java Island, etc. Also he said that the introduced P.R. tools were to be used as a model.
