Mr. Edy talked with residents

There were heavy rainfalls in February 2nd and 3rd, which amount was 94mm and 94.5mm each day, so that some of sediment related disasters were occurred in Jember District.

Then JICA joined the disaster investigation on February 10th with Mr. Edy, the head of Board of Nation Unity, Politic and Public Protection in Jember district, although he had just returned from the counterpart training in Japan.

There are many collapses in the Putih River basin where huge Banjir Bandang was occurred in 2006, and west basin closed Putih, because heavy rainfall felt down in several hours. We investigated in Suci and Pakis area, where there were little damages for residence, talked with residents about early warning of Banjir Bandang.

Mr. Edy would show his ability obtained by the Counterpart training in Japan, because he told results of the training on the way to investigation.
