Field investigation by Prof. Nishimoto
Prof. Nishimoto from the Tsukuba Univ. visited in Jember and investigated Banjir Bandang in the field on February 18th.
He went to the Putih River basin where Banjir Bandang brought huge damage in 2006, heard residence people about the damage of such time, investigated the marks of Banjir Bandang in 2006 and confirmed the movement of debris after the disaster. After that, he also investigated some of collapses occurred by the rainfall on February 2nd and 3rd.
Although it was a short time investigation, it seems that he understood Banjir Bandang in Indonesia well.
