Mr. Ueno Expert and Mr. Yoshida Expert of JICA joined the National campaign for mitigation of sediment related disasters held by Ministry of Public Works and Jember district on October 22nd, 2011.

Firstly, many of high school students saw the Banjir Bandang animation movie which was made by JICA. Next, they received the lectures by Hariyono Utomo as the Head of the Sabo Technical Center and some lecturers. The lecturers explained about the vulnerability of Indonesia for various disasters and especially sediment related disasters occurrence and countermeasures. Finally one student asked to associate the students who volunteered to help for socialization of Banjir Bandang in the question time. Mr. Edy as the Head of Board of nation unity, politic and public protection (BAKESBANGPOLLINMAS) in Jember district presented his agreement and cooperation about student's suggestion.

Moreover the contests of coloring and drawing Banjir Bandang poster were held in another place and were joined by elementary school students. They seemed to enjoy studying with Mr. Hariyono Utomo as a lecturer about Banjir Bandang in the coloring and drawing time.
