Installation of the early warning and emergency evacuation equipment

In the course of extending scope of the model site activity into the Jember District; we are pushing forward the installation of the early warning and emergency evacuation equipment in Kali Pakis.

In the Pakis Village, the SOP (Standard Operation Procedure) for the early warning and emergency evacuation is under preparation; while in the Kahendran district, where has been hit by sediment disaster in the last February, there is moves that inhabitants intend to move by themselves from the riverside land to the elevated place in accordance with the proposal by the village master.

Unfortunately, however, due to poor status of power supply in the Kahendran district, usual observation equipment and devices could not be installed there. Under such circumstances as above, we are arranging a rainfall observation system by installing devices available in the market, which are driven by dry batteries. Installation activity of the observation devices are carried out by getting cooperation of the inhabitants in the area.
