Termination of Activities of Short-term Experts

Tadanori Ishizuka, Leader of Volcano and Debris Flow research team of Public Works Research Institute, Yoishi Washio, Head of Investigation and Quality Control of Shikoku mountainous SABO office, Shikoku Regional Development Bureau were visiting Indonesia for coaching "Researching Hazardous Area" and "Emergency Evacuation" since 26th February finished all activities and left for home.

During their visit, they lectured on the terminal seminar of Banjir Bandang Disaster Mitigation Management project, which was held in Jakarta and Banjir Bandang Hazard map development practice, which was held in Jogjakarta, and also exchanged opinions on future cooperation relationship with SABO experimental station and Gadjah Mada University.

On 2nd March, the final day of the activities, they reported the above activity details at the JICA Indonesia office. The short-term experts explained a series of lectures helped project achievements to steadily penetrate though there are many technical issues followed by Mount Merapi eruption and indicated the importance of continuous technical intercommunication between Japan and Indonesia.
