On February 10th, the presentation of planning for sediment control facilities took place at the conference room of Directorate General of Water Resources, Ministry of Public Works. After the greetings of Widagdo, Director of River, Lake and Reservoir, persons in charge at each office reported the plans of sediment control facilities established at basin areas blighted by debris flow disasters.

The noteworthy thing is the Sabo Technical Centre established previously in Yogyakarta through technical cooperation in the field of Sabo Engineering of Japan operates hydraulic experiment and circuit training in the field and assists to compile planning for sediment control facilities in each office.

Sabo Technical Centre fulfills great roles for improvement of Sabo Engineering in Indonesia, such as analyzing/accumulating knowledge obtained in each field and even giving feedback to a new field, etc.
