On March 10th, the Supporting committee of Integrated Disaster Mitigation Management for "Banjir Bandang" took place at the conference room of  Directorate General of Water Resources, Ministry of Public Works. This supporting committee is composed of concerned parties of the project and is aimed at information-sharing of "Banjir Bandang" and the project.

Moderated by Iwan Nursyirwan, Director General of Water Resources, Ministry of Public Works as chairman of the Supporting committee, contents of activities of the project et al. were discussed. Main opinions were brought such as plans to promote cooperation/partnerships with research institutes (universities, etc.) and to advance powerfully for diffusion across Indonesia of the achievement in Jember District as model sites of this project, etc.

Finally, holding of the Kick-off Meeting in Jember District in April was confirmed and the Supporting committee was closed.

In addition, the current members of the Supporting committee are Ministry of Public Works (Director General of Water Resources as chairman, Director of River, Lake and Reservoir, Sub Directorate Head of Western Region, Sub Directorate Head of Operation and Mitigation, Head of Brantas River Basin Office), Head of  Bureau of Public Works in East Java Province, Sabo Technical Centre, JICA and  Japanese Embassy.
