On June 4th, the Disaster Prevention seminar hosted by National Disaster Management Agency took place at the Jember University. 200 people participated in the seminar including related ministries such as Ministry of Public Works, provincial governments, districts, related persons of universities, etc. Also establishment of the research institute of natural disaster in Jember University was announced in this seminar.

In the session of risk management, Shusaku SHIIBA specialist delivered the lecture of the brief summary of Integrated Disaster Mitigation Management for "Banjir Bandang", etc. The existence or nonexistence of tools such as simulation models of "Banjir Bandang", etc. was questioned at the site, which was answered that we plan to introduce them in the future.

In addition, prior to the holding of the seminar, presentation at live broadcast of the local radio station (RRI: Radio Republik Indonesia) was offered and we explained our activity plans, etc. of this project in Jember.

We will also progress implementation of the project by mutual coordination with related organizations such as the National Disaster Management Agency, the Jember University, etc.
