On August 13, 2009, the Liaison and Coordination Meeting with SATLAK (The Disaster Management Committee) was held in the government building of Jember District. This meeting was held with the aim of making an explanation to the members of SATLAK about the detailed plans of activities of Integrated Disaster Mitigation Management for "Banjir Bandang" and also establishing future collaborative system. The meeting was attended by around 30 participants including the members of SATLAK, the mayors of ten towns and villages, which are closely related with "Banjir Bandang", etc.   

After the opening address by Eddy Vice-governor in Jember District, the meeting was conducted by Lt. Col. Totok Suhartono Military District Commander as coordinator. Shusaku SHIIBA specialist explained the contents of activities of Integrated Disaster Mitigation Management for "Banjir Bandang".

During the question and answer period, comprehensive investigations in all part of Jember District and improvement of Sabo facilities were requested. In addition, wide-ranging opinions were expressed, such as an opinion that installation places of rain gauges should be fully considered, a demand of educational activities to local leaders of disaster prevention.
