PhotoReporting the activities at JICA Indonesia office

The four Short-term experts, who visited Indonesia and gave trainings about “Exploration Technique of Deep-seated Landslide Investigation” and “Hazard Mapping” since November 5th, finished all the scheduled work and returned to their homeland.

During their visit, the Short-term experts taught to local counterparts by demonstration concerning interpretation of micro topography at a model site in Jember District. Also they gave lectures about the measurement of identifying high-risk deep-seated landslide basin and application of debris flow numerical simulation at National Seminar for Sediment Disaster held at Magelang city in central Java province.

The last day of their session, on November 13th, the activities were reported at Embassy of Japan in Indonesia and JICA Indonesia Office. The Short-term experts pointed out that it would be very important next tasks to establish the systems which restore enough basic data regarding deep-seated landslide such as aerial photographs, histories of deep-seated landslide occurrence, etc. and watch/monitor risk signs such as rain amount for detecting and forecasting Banjir Bandang disaster occurrence.
