On March 11th, we conducted a field investigation with staffs from Bureau of Public Works including Sabo Technical Centre in Garut District, West Java Province where landslide disaster has continuously occurred during February.

Before the filed investigation, we visited Bureau of Public Works in Garut District, and received an explanation about the sediment disaster condition occurred in February in the District.

Then, we investigated debris flow disaster site in Samarang Sub-District. We confirmed a collapsed site at 3 Km upstream of the debris flow disaster site. We assume that collapsed sediment blocked a mountain stream and temporary created a natural dam.

In addition, we investigated landslides in Pasirwangi Sub-District. Here the landslides damaged private houses and roads on a cliff.
