Conducted re-investigation of landslides occurred in Bandung District

PhotoThe disaster site

On February 23rd, at Tenjolaya village in Pasirjambu Sub-District, Bandung District, West Java Province, heavy rainfall caused landslides and it became massive disaster. Although, on February 26th, we conducted a field investigation for understanding the landslide disaster occurrence and the circumstances, on March 12th we reinvestigated with staffs of Ministry of Public Works including Sabo Technical Centre.

This time, the investigation area was spread to near the collapsed points. The collapses occurred at steep slopes covered in forests and the collapsing range was approximately 100 m. We found surface stream water on the collapsed slopes. When the disaster occurred, it seemed that a large quantity of water was provided to the slopes.
