PSBM:Lesson Study Workshop organized by APBD of Serang District

In order to conduct PELITA MANDIRI activities in the District of Serang, The District Education Office of Serang organized a two-day Lesson Study Workshop at Pisita Anyer hotel in Serang District on 20-21 October 2011.

The activity was participated by 15 Public Junior High Schools in Serang. They joined the activity from the beginning until the end enthusiastically, because they believed that the benefit of Lesson Study would be very important for their teaching-learning activity. It was expected that participants would be able to implement in their own schools.

Mr.Tatang Suratno M.Pd, an expert from UPI Campus Serang worked as a lecturer, Head of SMP Curriculum Section of District Education Office of Serang, Dra Hj. Elis Yulaeti, M.Pd, and a Supervisor from the District Education Office of Serang, Drs H Budiana delivered their speech in opening ceremony. The activity was also attended by representatives of PELITA.

Ms. Elis said that the District Education Office of Serang was serious in improving the quality of its human resources. It was proven by their organizing Lesson Study activity for the second time. "The quality of education must be improved. It is the reason why we continue to do various efforts," said Ms. Elis. She stated that, in the future, the District Education Office of Serang planned to develop Lesson Study by focusing on School-Based Lesson Study and MGMP-Based Lesson Study, in addition to PSBM activities. Some schools would be the base-camp schools for LS implementation, namely National Standard Schools and Candidate for National Standard Schools. They were expected to become the embryo for the development of LS to all over Serang District.

Thus, PELITA MANDIRI program, in 2011, has been running very well in the District of Serang. The District Implementation Team was very enthusiastic to continue PSBM program and was also challenged to conduct Lesson Study in 2012.
