Teacher Has to Pay More Respect to Students.

During the evaluation session of Lesson Study program in MTsN Gondowulung, Bantul, Yogyakarta on November 28 2012, Mr. Atsushi Tsukui (one of PELITA-JICA experts) said that teacher should pay more respect and appreciate students in the lesson so that the objective of the lesson could be reached.

Teachers can show more of their attention and empathy toward students because they are the recipient of educational service provided by teachers. Students should receive optimal service of education in class room. Until this time, there are lots of finding of unappreciative attitude of teachers toward students during lesson activities in class room. Successfulness of learning is determined by healthy interaction between teacher and students so that the learning process will be delightful.

Teachers are expected to be more careful in observing students' attitude when they receive lesson; they have to respond quickly to assure the lesson plan runs well. Lately, teachers concentrate more on the content, and that is why the observation to students attitude are neglected, as said by Mr. Atsushi Tsukui.

Mr. Yoshitaka Tanaka (PELITA-JICA expert) explained the necessity of a more detailed preparation and planning in relation to the lesson plan that will be executed in the class.

Unsuccessfulness of Lesson Study learning in class is more caused by un-detailed steps of given lesson to get the objective, and this is the obstacle of Lesson Study development.

Asih Budiarti, a teacher in MTsN Gondowulung who also joins that activity said that every lesson in Lesson Study needs model teachers' own creativity. Teachers are expected to read the class situation so that they can be in control of the lesson, and lesson's objectives can be reached.

Miftahul Indra (model teacher, English language) said that he has made a big effort to fulfill the target given to him in Lesson Study. Theoretically, it has been prepared well, but in fact he still needs to be aware of the dynamic that happens in the class when the lesson is being conducted. This matter will get quite serious attention for the successfulness of the lesson given.
