The First Joint Coordinating Committee

The First Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) meeting for the project took place on the 10th of August 2016. The JCC is the highest decision making mechanism for the Project and it is the place to discuss strategies and directions of the project execution.

The First JCC aimed to present and reach agreement on the Project purpose, approaches and the planned activities. The participants were JCC members consisting of parties relevant to the Project, including the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Higher Population Council as a partner organization, JICA Jordan Office, and officials from target health directorates. The questions and comments from the participants regarded project management mechanisms, indicators of Project Design Matrix (PDM). In response to questions concerning indicators, the Project will review these in detail after fully considering the results of the baseline survey.

In his remarks, Dr. Bashir Al Qasir, a director of the Primary Health Care Directorate, MOH, expressed his appreciation for the achievements of preceding JICA projects that had led to the implementation of this project Mr. Shoukichi Sakata, a Chief Representative of JICA Jordan Office, expressed his great expectations toward the project since it is based on the long history of JICA technical cooperation. He emphasized that there was no doubt to its success.

After the First JCC, the Project began full-scale operation.
