Updating the Existing Operation Manual for Village Health Centers

September to October, 2016

One of the important outcomes of the Project is to review and update "Operation manual of Village Health Center in the Southern region" which was prepared by the previous JICA Project in the Southern region. The purpose of updating the manual is to modify the manual and apply it in the Northern region.

To achieve this outcome, a technical committee, so-called supervisor meeting, was established. The members of the committee are supervisors of the Mother and Child Health Department of each health directorate. The first preparation meeting in which the objectives of the committee and the roles of members were shared was held on July 13. Afterward, three committee meetings were held on 19th September, 26th September, and 9th October. Directions and procedures for updating work were agreed upon among members. Through the process of review all participants became familiar with the overall contents of the manual. Now it is undergoing the process of updating with each paragraph being read by all participants. Through its discussions, MOH anticipates that this will be a national standardized manual for the entire Kingdom, not only for the North governorates. The Project intends to fulfill the MOH expectations.
