Statistical Training for Ministry of Health staff members (7th September – 11th September, 2015)

The statistical analysis training for staff of Ministry of Health was held on 7th to 11th September, 2015. Following the first statistical training held in March 2015, this was the second training and around 40 staff members in total completed the 5-days training course.

Establishing an effective diseases surveillance system is crucial to control infectious diseases. In the SATREPS Project, mSOS (mobile SMS-based disease outbreak alert system) was established and suspected cases are reported from local area to central authorities to prevent further spread of disease.

This training aims to improve capacity for officials of Ministry of Health in basic statistical analysis skills of disease surveillance data. The participants stated that they are eager to apply the skills obtained during this training into their daily work.
