End of the first year's project activities in Laos

2010-12-08

On 8th December, all Japanese experts left Laos upon the end of the first year's activities. Through the management of the project, the expert recognized that there were many contributions to the project management from many supporters of both Japanese and Lao parties. In the first year, project implementers spent a lot of time to make clear a role of the project as well as to obtain information such as an actual situation of schools and lessons. In this process, project members subjectively worked for the project and tried to secure budgets to manage teacher training by themselves in the future. We, Japanese experts, always tell the counterparts on a future management which they have to organize by themselves once we leave here. Therefore, we consider that it is important for the project members to make a sustainable system while Japanese personnel are here in Laos.

We think that the second year is a key for the project to overcome the issues which we found in the first year. In order to produce the good outcomes, we will work hard with counterparts.
