Third workshop in the second year was held at the end of May 2011 after Lao's New Year holiday.

In the first part of the workshop, ITSME trainers, who were going to participate in JICA training program in Japan, set their objectives for the training in Japan and confirmed activities in the program. Tasks set by the individual trainer and group of trainers as their objectives for JICA training could be important inputs for the project. Their attitude toward listening carefully about the explanation of the program told us how they are serious and willing to learn in Japan.

After that, trainers made new model lesson plans which would be presented as model lessons to be used as training materials in the future training. As trainers were divided into smaller group (7 groups of 3 trainers) than before, opportunity of each trainer for giving comments was increased and they became more active to make lesson plan. Moreover, two groups started making science model lesson plan. Both groups eagerly proposed improvised teaching material to make lesson understandable for children. This practice of science groups encouraged math group to introduce teaching materials which are utilized by students in math lesson. It is a first step as a teacher that they themselves enjoy making lesson plan in order to make understandable lesson. We are looking forward to seeing their model lesson plan.
