Report of JICA Training Program in Japan

2011-06-13

Twenty (20) participants for JICA Training Program visited MOE to report their findings in Japan on 13th June 2011, just after their arrival in Laos at night of the day before.

Groups of PES, DEB and TTC having different roles in education reported what they learned in the training as below from their own points of view.

"In Japanese math lesson, students discuss only one or two problems for a long time. In that process, students find similarities or differences among their own answers to come up with best way to solve it.".

"Japanese science lesson is quite different from Lao science lesson as students make prediction before doing experiments. For predicting, students are required to utilize their own experiences as well as knowledge. And, if they obtain a wrong result, they reflect why they obtained the wrong answer. We would like to introduce this practice in Laos".

Their reports were excellent and beyond Japanese experts' expectations. They were willing to apply what they learned in Laos. We, the project team has a big challenge to applying them for project activities.
