Principals excited an iodine-starch reaction as they observed it for the first time in their lives

From August 29, fifth workshop has been conducted. This workshop consists of three major sections and it took three weeks.

The first section was the ITSME lesson plan preparation.

During the section, seven (7) ITSME lesson plans were prepared. Moreover, 2 lesson plans out of 7, were checked in details for introducing principals/ATs in TOT in order to make principals utilize them in their SBT. ITSME project assists the improvement of teachers' ability by introducing exemplar lesson plans.

In the second section, TOTs were implemented in each target district. ITSME trainers explained ITSME concepts and eagerly presented the ITSME lesson plans. Then they are planning to run their SBT using them. In response to trainers' explanations, one of the principals said that he is willing to provide necessary teaching materials if they could practice these excellent lessons. It was a word at which the project's activities are rewarded.

Finally, feedback section was conducted to improve the ITSME lesson plans based on the comments from principals and ATs. As a whole, ITSME lesson plans were mostly acclaimed by principals. However, there were some comments from principals on further improvements. Based on the comments, we revised ITSME lesson plans to suit the actual condition of schools.

Moreover, trainers from JICA-CIED (Supporting Community Initiatives for Primary Education Development in the Southern Provinces) project participated on of the TOT. This was a good opportunity for ITSME trainers to exchange their ideas.
