Seventh workshop in the second year

2011-12-19~12-24

Seventh workshop in the second year was held at Savannakhet TTC for a week from 19th of December. Two activities, development of Internal Supervision manual and revision of model lesson plans, were conducted in this workshop.

1. Development of Internal Supervision(IS) manual

ITSME project is targeting the enhancement of IS as a way to make teachers study lesson planning by using ITSME model lesson plans. Therefore, a development of a manual for guiding IS was based on the contents of TOTs implemented in this year. Manual editing team, consists of several trainers, was organized to review documents given by group members who had presented in TOTs. As a result of their editing, a first draft of manual was developed.

2. Revision of model lesson plans

Model lesson plans made in this year were revised based on the confirmations of characteristics of ITSME lesson plan as well as comments from principals in TOTs. Since trainers improved their understanding on a lesson plan through the previous workshops and TOTs, their discussion on revising lesson plans is more active than before. Although all correction was not finished, their progress report from each group showed that each lesson plan were well-developed to suit the characteristics of ITSME lesson

In next workshop, the draft manual and the lesson plans will be completed.

It is expected that these training materials strengthen IS.

Trainers had opportunities to improve their computer skills among themselves during this workshop. Trainers, who participated in this session, eagerly learned the skills. It is quite sure that those skills help their actual works.

JICA MOE advisor, a staff from DPPE and a staff from RIES could join in this workshop. Through their participation, concrete project activities and issues which project are facing were shared with them. Project expects the further cooperation with other organization concerned through them. Furthermore, 4 new trainers from Savannakhet and Pakse TTC joined in ITSME project from this workshop. Their participation would contribute to the further spread of the concept of ITSME lesson to TTCs and schools.
