2012-02-13~02-18

Eighth workshop in the second year was held at Pakse TTC for a week from 13th of February 2012. Project progress report, completion of Internal Supervision (IS) manual and completion of revising model lesson plans as a training materials were conducted in this workshop.

1. Progress report to directors

On the first day of the workshop, actual outcomes and issues of the project were reported to directors from MOE, PES and DEB in target area. Directors acknowledged project outcomes, and expected further effects for schools.

2. Completion of IS manual and model lesson plans

In order to complete the manual and lesson plans, All ITSME trainers confirmed contents of both of them which developed in the previous workshop. After discussing contents, editing team for the manual were concluded all the parts. Finally, a first version of the manual, which shows the meaning of IS and characteristics of a model lesson plan and so on, was completed for guiding teachers in IS.

In terms of completion of lesson plans, all trainers as a ITSME team confirmed all lesson plans. Their points of discussion such as an objective, students' activities and appropriateness of the materials on the lesson plans were deepened. It can be said that the trainers' abilities on making lesson have been improved through the project activities. However, it seems difficult for them to judge the appropriateness of students' activities due to insufficient subject knowledge. Therefore, it is a challenge for the project to enhance their abilities on both lesson planning and subject knowledge.

Since this workshop was the last one in the second year, a questionnaire for ITSME trainers was conducted to improve the project activities. The project will decide future activities by referring the result of questionnaires.

PhotoTrainers persistently discussed contents in lesson plan with experts.

PhotoTrainers showed a teaching material which was developed by themselves.
