JICA's assistance for ITSME is over in coming October. Therefore, the project confirmed the effects on the target schools through the visit of 32 schools out of 107 target schools. The survey at each school consisted of lesson observation and feedback, questionnaires for teacher and students, arithmetic test, and sharing meeting to obtain information. The survey was organized by ITSME trainers with Japanese experts. It means that it is expected to improve the trainers' ability on the survey skills.

1. Lesson observation and feedback

The lesson observation was done by the trainers using the lesson observation sheet. All teachers, who were observed by the trainers, made the lesson plan before teaching. All the lesson plans included the steps of ITSME lessons. However, the order of activities and exercises were just copied from the textbook. It means teachers did not arrange and not consider enough the contents to suit students' learning.

After the lesson, the teachers gave the trainers their feeling, and the trainers gave the comments on good points and points to be improved in the lesson. Some comments such as "Teacher should summarize after each activity", "Teacher should give instruction before starting activities", and "Teacher should consider time allocation" are effective for improving teaching. These comments show that the trainers improved their ability on lesson planning and observation through the project activities.

2. Questionnaire and arithmetic test for teachers and students

In order to comprehend the students' understanding and interests, the questionnaire was used. Some students could not understand the meaning of the questions. Therefore, the trainers explained the questions one by one.

Teachers and students took the test seriously. These data was analysed from now on.

3. Sharing meeting

All teachers in the school were invited to the meeting to share the experience on ITSME materials and IS activities. According to the teachers' comments, ITSME materials are utilized in IS activities and they provided the steps of lesson and subject knowledge to teachers. Moreover, some teachers used ITSME materials for their own students with slight modification. Students could understand well in the lesson by utilizing ITSME materials. Those comments show that ITSME materials are effective for both teachers and students. Furthermore, It can be said that ITSME materials effect on revitalizing IS activities through teachers' comments. It means ITSME materials are quite important for teachers' study because teachers are suffering from the lack of any materials for their study.
