TOT in the fourth year

From 24th of June, ITSME trainers started the training for principals and AT, which is called TOT, at each province. This article shows the implementation of TOT in Khammouane province.

1. Preparation day for TOT

At the day before TOT, ITSME trainers prepared the materials and practiced the presentation. Since some trainers could not explain the contents well at this time, they practiced hardly with other trainers' advice. They contributed their effort and cooperated one another within the limited time.

2. Implementation of TOT

30 teachers in Thakhek and 23 teachers in Himboun were participated at the day of TOT. TOT consists of the results of Endline survey, the introduction of manuals, introduction of ITSME materials and sharing IS experience. Teachers carefully listened to the results of Endline survey. We hope that these results encourage the teachers to continue IS activity. ITSME trainer explained important points of lesson planning during presenting the manuals. As teachers were eagerly reading the manuals, it shows their positive attitude on learning manuals. Especially, teachers actively learned ITSME materials which are exemplar science and math lesson plans. They enjoyed science experiments and mathematics visual aids just like students.

3. Feedback session of TOT

After conducting TOT at each district, trainers had the feedback session to share their notice and comments on each presentation. Based on these comments, trainers improved their presentation for the next TOT. Furthermore, after finishing both TOTs, the provincial feedback session was organized. Trainers summarized their activities and share good points and points to be improved for their future TOT.

Through this TOT, we realized that the confirmation of the readiness of materials and practices of the presentation were very important before conducting TOT. Moreover, trainers discussed what they have to do and who should be a leader to manage TOT in order to continue TOT in the future. As they could not find specific answers, they have to consider these points continuously.
