Study tour to Southern 4 provinces, which are Savanakhet, Champasak, Attapeu, and Sekong, was organized from 20th to 23rd of December, 2011. The number of participants was 9 from mainly integrated agriculture team conducting sub-project in Taoy district, Salawan Province. The participants observed many rice-based integrated agricultural practices in those provinces. Activities that the participants were interested in were 1) flog raising in paddy fields practiced at rice multiplication center of Savanakhet province, and 2) direct-seedling rice culture (Na Nyot in Lao language) expanded in Champasak province. Especially, direct-seedling machine from Vietnam was very attractive for them. Participants actively discussed which activities were appropriate in Taoy District. Based on the result of the study tour, demonstration farms are planned to be established in Taoy District by core farmers.
