As a result of monitoring on aquaculture activity conducted by the Paske office, it has been confirmed that a core farmer in Xanxai district Attapeu province had already started with egg collection of common carp under the guidance of provincial and district staff. The hatched larvae will be nursed in the pond for two months to become fingerlings for marketing. It is expected that those core farmers assisted by the Project will sustain their seed production business on their own and transfer technology to other farmers. In addition, the provincial and district staff prapared an action plan for aquaculture extension activities to be carried out after the initial stage. Local initiative is highly expected in terms of sustainability of the extension activities.
