A study tour to Cambodia was organized from 17th to 23rd February, 2013. A total of 17 participants including 2 from Department of Livestock and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, 4 from target Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Offices, 8 from target District Agriculture and Forestry Offices, and 3 Japanese experts participated in the study tour. It was expected to deepen the understanding of relevant persons from both Lao and Japanese side on the concept of farmer-to-farmer extension, which was recommended by the mid-term review conducted in December 2012. The participants visited different core farmers fostered by JICA assisted Project, Freshwater Aquaculture Improvement and Extension Project (FAIEX) phase 1 and 2. Beside, possibility of future collaboration between Cambodia and Laos in the field of fisheries was also discussed between the two countries. The knowledge gained from the study tour will contribute to more effective implementation of the Project in the latter stage.
