Luang Prabang Kick-off Meeting
Introduction of Project (Output 4) activities by the JICA expert, Mr. Namura
The kick-off meeting (related to the Output 4) of the Project was held on November 17th, 2015 at the Department of Forestry in Luang Prabang. Our team discussed with the implementation agency mainly on the Project outline and the activities of Output 4. The Output 4 mainly supports the preparation for REDD+[1] implementation at the provincial level in Luang Prabang. Moreover, another aim of the meeting was to give feedback on the development of a national REDD+ strategy.
In addition, the Project will collaborate with the RECOFTC (The Center for People and Forests), which has been working with the purpose of forest conservation in the Asia and Pacific regions, in Output 4 activities. This cooperation comes under the JICA-RECOFTC Partnership Program. Therefore experts from the RECOFTC Bangkok and Lao offices participated in the meeting.
