IT Festa was held and successfully concluded on March 11 and 12 at IT Building. The main objective is to let young people get interested in IT. The event consists of seminars, workshops and exhibitions, and preparation started in December last year.

In the seminar, there were 25 sessions of wide range of topics including how to buy a PC, IT engineer carrier path, ongoing projects in Laos such as national internet gateway and localization of applications, introduction of cutting-edge technology such as cloud computing and ubiquitous computing. Lectures given by two JICA Experts, Mr.Ishikawa and Mr.Kogre and by the members of AUN/SEED-Net Regional Conference made the seminar more prolific.

In the workshop, two JOCV members, Ms.Miho OOBA and Mr.Yusuke KITAMURA conducted courses about the creation of games and digital slideshow. ITSC students organized a session for LAN development. Two of our counterparts, Ms.Vimontha and Mr.Khamxay conducted the teamwork/leadership enhancement workshop.

The exhibition was titled "Made-in-Laos IT products". Three local software companies presented their products such as accounting system, hotel reservation system and localization of mobile applications. A newly published IT magazine called "e-Corner" was brought by its creators. Some graduation studies of undergraduate students were also presented.
