The 8th MA-SHEP Technical Committee (TC) Meeting and the 4th MA-SHEP Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) Meeting were held in Lilongwe on 22nd March and 26th March, 2019 respectively.
First, at the 8th TC Meeting, MA-SHEP reported the progress of the project activities in the 3rd quarter of Malawi Fiscal Year 2018/2019 (from January to March, 2019) and the plan of project activities in the next quarter (from April to June, 2019). We also reviewed the MA-SHEP Implementation Plan and the Annual Plan of Operation (PO) based on the results of the project activities in the 2nd Batch target areas.
At the 4th JCC Meeting held after the TC Meeting, MA-SHEP reported the progress of the project activities (from October, 2018 to March, 2019) and the plan of project activities (from April to September, 2019). Based on the project report, the JCC members approved the revision of the MA-SHEP Implementation Plan.
Ms. Ntupanyama, the Chief Director of Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development (MoAIWD), who chaired the JCC meeting mentioned that "The approach has reached to over 100 farmer groups across the country, benefiting over 3,500 farmers by linking them to reliable markets. It is my expectation the approach will be replicated to other projects."
