The JICA Project Team conducted the following activities in the first year from June 2010 to March 2011.
- The members of a working group on the urban redevelopment law attended a series of workshops which focused on the project implementation bodies and processes. The goal of the workshops was to deepen their understandings of the legal framework in Japan and the system of urban redevelopment projects through Task Force meetings and intensive discussions. As these activities were held and with some advice from the JICA Project Team, the members created the draft of the urban redevelopment law.
- Through discussions with Task Force, those in charge of law creation and amendment at Ministry of Road, Transport, Construction and Urban Development (MRTCUD) and the Ulaanbaatar City Government enriched their understandings of relevant laws, such as the urban development law, housing law, land law, parking law, and agricultural land law.
- With the effective use of presentation performances and training programs by the JICA Project Team, the members of Task Force understood and deepened their knowledge of land readjustment projects, redevelopment projects, real estate assessment, as well as project implementation process and bodies.
